Sutra Foundation, in association with ArtsFAS, an initiative of Yayasan Hasanah presents Malam Bulan di Pagar Bintang 2.0, a triple-bill contemporary modern dance production which had a tremendously successful premiere in July 2024.
The production is designed to be the exciting and available crowd-puller entertainment for those who have decided to stay back in KL over the CNY weekend holidays. The three dances featured are conceived and choreographed by Datuk Ramli Ibrahim.
This second season is put on by popular request to launch Sutraโs program for 2025.
Though Sutra Foundation has been associated with Indian Classical dance, it had in the past pioneered and created many notable contemporary productions.
Malam Bulan di Pagar Bintang, that preceded Sutraโs recent successful Meniti Cakerawala, put Sutra Foundation back on track as an important player in the Malaysian Contemporary Modern dance/theatre scene.
Malam Bulan di Pagar Bintang continues to forge a multi-cultural Malaysian identity defining ‘modernity’ from Asian perspectives, exploring a Malaysian modern dance genre, within our rich tapestry of Malaysian dance.
