It is always a pleasure to perform in Melaka but this time, somehow, there was an extra ‘zing’ to Sutra’s performance of Radhe! Radhe! at the Panggung Sari, JKKN Ayer Keroh, Melaka on 23 May, 2026.
Co-partnered with the Lions Club of Ayer Keroh and JKKN Melaka (with support of pengarah, Puan Ezlina Alias), Radhe! Radhe! impressed Melaka audience as it also did a few weeks ago, for Seremban & Klang.
The production looked splendid and was in place, immaculately prepared by technical director & lighting designer, Sivarajah Natarajan, and the crew of KRSS, before the dancers arrived.
Dancers car-pooled, wading through the long-holiday traffic, had a quick banana leaf lunch nearby, before going straight to the theatre, warm-up, space-blocking & make-up, and voila, performed!
Nobody realised that they did not even have time to check in to their hotel. This was one of the artists’ sacrifices to have the privilege and joy of performing something unforgettable and grand as Radhe! Radhe!Many took off from work and could only perform in the weekends.
Dr Sendhil Kumar Somasundaram, the Organising Chairman of LCAK, was delighted with the overwhelming audience response that exceeded expectation! At the same time he was impressed how the dancers were able to settle in their roles so comfortably without a full rehearsal!
President of LCAK, Lion Bakiam Arunachalam gave a charming speech setting a relaxed atmosphere of refinement.
The LCAK was happy that not only were its objectives of fundraising met but there was the extra bonus that the audience unanimously loved the performance.
The exposure of the audience to the best of Indian culture was the effective vitamins & trace elements needed to create empathy, caring and open-mindedness within the public (especially youths) consciousness, to be responsible citizens!
