In 2008, a young Rahul Varshney first stepped onto the Sutra stage for the Stirring Odissi Festival. Eighteen years later, he returns โ not as the same dancer, but as a river deepened by time, experience and sฤdhanฤ.
ฤvartana means a return โ the completion of a cycle, and the beginning of another. For Rahul, this return is not repetition. It is transformation.
Trained by Smt Jyoti Shrivastava and the distinguished Padmashri Guru Durga Charan Ranbir, Rahul has emerged as one of the compelling male Odissi dancers of his generation. A Best Male Dancer Award winner at Attakkalari 2025, he brings to the stage the powerful Guru Debaprasad Bani โ its virility, sculptural strength, dynamic footwork and striking turns โ tempered by a dancerโs sensitivity and intelligence.
This is more than a performance.
It is a return to a familiar stage, carrying a lifetime of movement within the body.
