Dear Friends,
Six figurative visual artists led by Bayu Utomo Radjikin have been diligently coming to Sutra Studio At Titiwangsa to live-draw Sutra dancers for several weeks. The result is a compelling exhibition of drawings of dancers at Sutra Gallery titled Glance of a Dance, on 16 August, 2024, 8.30pm.
The exhibition will be officiated by Izzy/Ismail Ani Arope, one of the most visible aficionados in the KL visual arts scene.
Sometimes itโs so refreshing to go back to the basics as what artists Shia Yih Ying, Bayu Utomo Radjikin, Marvin Chan, Arif Fauzan Othman, Yuki Tham and Wong Ming Hao, have found out. They were given the luxury of dancers/models at their bidding to pose at whatever time span and poses the artists needed to draw and study.
The result is the compelling exhibition of โGlance of a Danceโ which dance and visual art lovers must not miss at Sutra Gallery.
Sutra.
