Friends,
Longing, weaves together diverse poetic voices as it journeys through the many landscapes of Anurฤga (passionate emotional connection).
It embraces the aching love of Rฤdhฤ for Krishแนa, the devotee’s yearning for his Ishta Devata, the tenderness of friendship, and the quiet call of the soul towards the eternal.
Each composition offers a distinct emotional world, revealing longing as profoundly universal. Anurฤgฤvali unfolds as a garland of emotional landscapes, inviting the audience to experience longing in its myriad formsโ earthly and divine, intimate and cosmic โ where every path of love ultimately leads inward, and every inward journey becomes a return to the Divine.
Pritam Das is undeniably an enigmatic and exceptional Bharatanatyam dancer of his generation, whose magic presence and art stirs the primal rasas within his audiences. Only few gifted performers, with an authentic androgynous quality and intensity, are able to evoke these powerful reactions in the audience.
A rising star in the echelon of Bharatanatyam, Pritam Das has been 3 times recipient of the best dancerโs award from The Music Academy (Chennai), the bastion of Bharatanatyam. He possesses the innate potency to convince us of the timeless relevance of this art form.
Born and trained in Kolkata, Pritam had his initial training under Smt Jayita Ghosh and Sri Samrat Dutta, and presently is under the tutelage of Guru Rama Vaidyanathan.
