Recently Sutra principal dancer, Jyotsnaa was invited by Shri Siddhartha Nayak (Founder/Director of Houston-based Odissi Academy) to perform Odissi at their 10th episode of Oh, Odissi! One-World, online festival.
Sutra videographer, Jayaselan captures Jyotsnaa in a compelling video, performing two compositions of different qualities – Shankarabaranam Pallavi (pure dance) & Muha Muhi Kishora (abhinaya) of Guru Pankaj Charan Das and Guru Shrinath Raut respectively, in the inimitable Sutra creative spirit, framed in the lush Sutra & KamaRia gardens.
Jyotsnaa is endowed with natural grace and facility of movement. Within a relatively short time she established herself as one of the audiences’ favourite. Trained in bharatanatyam, odissi, ballet and contemporary dance, Jyotsnaa possesses self-confidence which makes her dance seem effortless and composed, even when under pressure. Jyotsnaa has performed and travelled extensively with Sutra in India and Malaysia.
