Dear Friends,
Sutra is delighted to host Aishwarya Aravind and her dancers Vimal, Pavithira, Issha, Abhilaasha, Tarishyna who will present a Bharatanatyam repertoire titled โSthree Ramaneeyatvamโ at Sutra House. The major underlying theme of the repertoire centres on the exploration of the grace and strength of the feminine principle in Indian myth.
Aishwarya Aravind is a senior graduate of Kalakshetra, the famous dance institution in Chennai founded by the legendary Smt Rukmini Arundale.
It was clear from the start when I first saw her dance that Aishwarya was among the best Bharatanatyam dancers in Malaysia.
Based in Port Dickson, Aishwarya also teaches for the Temple of Fine Arts in Malacca and represents the strict โpuccaโ style of the Kalakshetra Bani.
Aishwaryaโs appearance at Sutra was postponed two years ago due to COVID and we now look forward to her much anticipated performance.
Ramli Ibrahim
