Sutra Foundation presents โUnbound Odissi where Odissi finds a rare expression in dance and visual art from a Klang-based studio.
Unbound Odissi will feature dancers of Sutra Dance Outreach Program from Klang-based Raas Leela Performing Arts. What is unique about this event is that, it is simultaneously accompanied by an Exhibition of Paintings and Drawings by its sister-studio, Play & Paint Art Studio that takes inspiration from these Klang odissi student-dancers themselves who were models for the drawings and paintings.
Exhibition Launch is on 26 April 2025 (Sat), 7.30pm

Sutra started its Dance Outreach Program some three years ago with Raas Leela Performing Arts Studio. Founder and Principal Priya Yogi will also present her visual arts talents from her studio for the first time at Sutra Gallery. Naturally, Odissi is the subject matter of the exhibition. Together with Play & Paint Art Studio, Priya Yogi showcases the dance and visual art talents she has nurtured together with Sutra in a compelling dance/exhibition at Sutra House. This endeavour should be applauded as it is rare that we are able to experience talents from Klang.
We hope this event will be the โseedโ to pave the way for a more concerted effort to produce future dancers and artists of calibre from Klang and other talents outside Kuala Lumpur.
